There are lots of reasons to join Scouts of America here in Burlington, Vermont. Here are just a few.
Character and Leadership Development
In Scouts of America, boys and girls learn the importance of values like respect, responsibility and honesty through work and play. Our leaders (both adults and our older scouts) teach by example how kids can become young adults with the potential to lead and succeed in anything that may come their way.
Outdoor Education
Our Scouts will learn what it takes to survive and thrive in the outdoors in all kinds of weather. That means we go camping even when it’s cold outside (but not too cold). Your son or daughter can teach you what they learn in Scouts to make your family camping experiences more enjoyable and make you better prepared for bad weather.
Fund Raising and Fun Raising
At Troop 650, we take pride in the fact that all of our Scouts are able join for FREE. Throughout the year, we raise funds to not only cover the cost of Scout dues, but also for our camping trips and other fun activities. Your child will play an important role in raising those funds and learning the importance of teamwork towards a tangible team goal.
